From an artistic standpoint though they look a little unfinished, especially next to the bolded black words. I'd recommend going over the drawings with a pen before scanning them. Keep up the good work!

Yeah, good point. Sometimes, I also think about doing these with PS. Lineart would be great, I'd have ready sprites and modifying them would be easier as well.
