Interesting. I don't think I've ever seen a fic with a chronicler as a main character in it. In fact, they're barely mentioned. This is really interesting so far, I wonder what plan Chad has to get himself out of this mess.
Thanks. The main reason I chose a Chronicler was because I havn't read another fanfic with one in; as you say, they're hardly ever mentioned and I thought it would be different. Chad's plan isn't very spectacular...

good chapter, I'm really curious about what is going to happen next

I just love rain filled chapters
Thanks. I thought the rain thing was a good way to set the mood.

I love rain. Just put the word rain and windows alone in a sentance it almost qualifies as good. Almost.

I love this chapter too. The report could have been a bit more... Sliggy by adding a commercial or something. More!
Thank you. And I warned you that the report was bad!

Chapter 4: On the Run

The Chronicler found a suitcase and rapidly began to stuff everything he needed into it; clothes, food, spare money. When he was sure he had everything he quickly changed into some clean clothes and hid his blood-stained ones deep inside his wardrobe. His breath was coming fast and heavy, as if he’d just ran a mile. Fear filled his mind. He knew the Sligs could be at his door any minute.

A flash of lighting illuminated the world outside, making Chad stop. All those people, he bitterly began to think. All those people, whether it be Glukkon, Vykker, Glikk, Eduk, or Oktigi; all completely wrapped up with their own lives and unaware that there are others that need help, others that are suffering. He shook his head. If my doctor had just helped me when I needed it, this wouldn’t be happening.

He put on his coat, which was still wet, and made to leave. But before he did he felt something in his pocket. He brought out and looked at the object, only to find his anti-depressants. His face forming a frown, he dropped them somewhere behind him and walked out the door, suitcase in hand.

The world was wet, grey, and miserable. The sun had long set, making everything all the darker. Chad planned to head to the nearest bus stop, and from there he would catch the first bus that came. At the moment he didn’t care where he went, all he knew was he needed to get out of the city. There were plenty of small towns dotted across Mudos, many of which were far away from any heavily populated areas. All he had to do was go somewhere no one expected and he would be safe.

Soon he found himself at the bus stop. There was no shelter so he had to stand in the rain, getting colder by the second. His fear slowly turned to sadness, and he dearly wished he’d not left his pills at his apartment.

A bus came half an hour later, spraying Chad with water as it pulled up. Sighing, he pulled out his wallet and took the right amount of Moolah, climbed the steps, paid the driver, and found a seat near the back. Apart from a female Eduk at the front he was completely alone on the bus. He rested his suitcase on the seat beside him before taking off his coat and laying it on top.

The bus started back up and left the stop, taking Chad away from everything that had happened. A sudden tiredness overcame the chronicler. He knew this was the only chance in a while he would have to sleep, so he hesitantly closed his eyes and awkwardly drifted off.
