Plus, unlike in AE, things aren't really explained to you properly in AO at first, just that you have to escape and run away from things that want to stab their beaks through your chest, shoot you in the back, or bite you in two - And all of that in an environment where you can't see clearly where things are, only shadows (at least in the Stockyards, anyway).
So I vote for AO - It was just the most atmospheric out of all the games. AE has creepy concepts, but the atmosphere is brighter, including the music. Besides that, you're not running away from things - You're infiltrating industries to rescue people, or simply trying to get from A to B.
I made a post similar to this in this thread a few days ago, but it would seem I forgot to post it and closed down firefox. You said it much better than I did anyway.

People are far too critical of GBA MO. Okay, I wouldn't hold it up on a pedestal, but for Oddworld fans it's another game with our favourite characters in our favourite Universe. If anybody actually gets a chance to play it, please do. You'll see it's not as "creepy" as you're all making it out to be.
