No joke really took off, and the story never went anywhere.
Exactly! Considering the town it took place in, I think that was completely appropriate. (Ha, a jab at New Jersey)

Maybe not, but I dunno. The humor itself was so deluded and weird... I don't know, aside from all the fancy things that made it "Feature Presentation" material, it totally felt like a low-budget film. I thought it was really original, and I laughed my ass off when they were doing Ghostbusters... different strokes, I spose.

Oh, I also saw Wristcutters: A Love Story, which was cool in the same sort of uncomfortable way. The only other thing I've seen Tom Waits act in was Coffee and Cigarettes, and the Wristcutters performance blew that one out of the water. Really cool stuff, I felt like those two movies were really refreshing.

It seems I'm a sucker for absurdity.
