Yeah, Maxis made way more creatures then they did Civs and Space stuff.
The game dowloads stuff over time, you just need to give it more. Also, adding people to your buddy list fasttracks their stuff to yours.

On the other hand, high school boys are
useless outside battle and sports anime.
