Let's see now...

Area
A huge house, like a mansion, with hundreds of rooms. The lights don't work propely and are always flickering on and off. There are a few doors which lead outside, mainly a big one in the main entrance and some smaller ones leading to gardens. You open one, only to find a brick wall behind it. If you look though a window all you see is static, like on a tv. Most of the time you can hear sounds coming from rooms which have their doors shut. The sounds include; scraping, scratching, footsteps, knives being sharpened, creaking, groaning, breathing. But when you open the door you find nothing in the room and the sounds stop. On rare occasions you can here quiet classical music playing, though you can never tell where it's coming from. All the time the air is heavy with the scent of lavander.

Who
Friends and family, though you only ever see them out the corner of your eye. When you turn to them or try to aproach them they suddenly vanish as if they were never there.

Monsters
The monsters are grotesque in appearance. The three main types are as follows (they don't have names):

1) These things are about six foot tall and are usualy hunched over. In place of a face is a wide, gaping hole. Black slime sputters out of it whenever the creature exhales, making gurgling sounds in the back of its throat. Its breathing is laboured and wheezy. Instead of skin it has sore-covered flesh that oozes fluid and pus, which constantly drips from it. As it walks it leaves behind gooey footprints. If the creature touches you your skin begins to die and peel away. If you break contact your skin heals back up, but if you don't you die.

2) These are a couple of feet high. They have twisted legs which means they can't walk very well. Their long bony arms, which have multiple elbow joints, drag uselessly behind them. Their skin is too small for them so you can see all of their bones. Again, they don't have faces, just huge mouths that stretch from their foreheads to their chests. They make horrid groaning noises when they walk, as if they're in pain.

3) These are more human in appearance. The bottom half has been ripped away so they don't have legs. They lay on the floor pretending to be dead, then grab you when you are close enough. Intestines trail behind them and they leave blood wherever they go. Their hands and faces are always covered in blood. They have empty eye sockets and really sharp teeth. They howl and scream at you if you manage to get away.

Other Stuff
There is one room in the house where the lights work fine and the door can be locked. Every night at 9:00 PM you make your way to this room for no reason. You lock the door behind you, smiling. There is a king-sized bed in the corner, which you go to. The sheets are red. You lift the sheets away, only to find thousands of maggots crawling everywhere. Some fall onto the floor by your feet. The paint on the walls start to peal away, more maggots dropping from the rotting wood. The light dims, and you turn to see your best friend stepping towards you. They are smilling kindly. They put a hand on your shoulder, still smiling. Then with their other hand they reach up and rip your throat out. You die. In the morning you wake up in a pool of your own blood, though you've healed. You get up and exit the room, knowing the same thing will happen again and again every night.
