The moulting cat/rat angel is now called Francis while evil kinevil glowy eye weasel boy is Seren.

One day while travelling to the city of Panajuki Francis accidentally ventures out of the high canopy forest, ignoring all warnings he received from his clan of catrat angels, to take a perceived shortcut through the shining meadow. He soon finds out, however, that the meadows are a bad place to be for catrat angels as clouds gather up thick on the horizon and start excreting rain, acidic from the meddling of the dograt angels with their new fangled technomancy, Francis' body explodes with pain as his wings start dissolving before his eyes (or rather behind them, but hey), now fearing for his life Francis picks up his pace and starts looking through these barren meadows for shelter.

Meanwhile Seren is one very unhappy awesome looking weasel dude as his scavenging bought up nout again today and his battleaxe of a wife sent him out hunting in the itchy rain. While shivering and cursing his bad luck he espies a vulnerable and succulent looking morsel of the Rodus Angellus family who, due in no small part to the acid rain which Seren feels as itches thanks to his adaptive coat, looks a little worse for wear. Seren's eyes seem to gleam in the moonlight as he sizes up his prey...

There's your story , tl;dr I like it. The background is lovely...in a morbid way.
