Hmm... a communal collection of brainless polyps? What an interesting description of oneself

I'm much more optimistic about the human race were there no laws. Laws maintain the artificially large social structures we live in these days, but they are a mere formal extension of instinctive behaviours that drive the altruistic, mutualistic members of a social group to punish the cheaters within that group that would otherwise put a significant drain on their resources and destroy their society. We wouldn't all immediately descend into a free-for all without some significant factor changing the nature of the human world, because that behaviour is suicidal for such a social species such as our own.

I also disagree with all the "follow your heart".

:
I try not to think with my gut. If I'm serious about understanding the world, thinking with anything besides my brain, as tempting as that might be, is likely to get me into trouble.
In this case, I may be being excessively literal, I'm sure no one (here) honestly believes that the heart is functional as a cognitive organ. But drawing from experience, my "heart" functions as well as a guide through life as I do geographically, ie, not very. Most of my childhood and young-adult grievances that were my own fault can be attributed to the "heart". I'm not up to it any more. I'm really quite opposed to it now. Not that I'm all that successful at not doing what my heart wants, but it still burns me as much as it always has.

Though even the briefest search on the Internet for "head versus heart" will reveal that this philosophy is so much in the minority that it's not even funny. Every one loves their heart more than their head, and I understand exactly why, all the ins and outs and why we can easily forget the poor consequences it brings and do it again, I understand. I've studied it. But I don't agree with it.
