Dek nodded at Jim, and patted him on the shoulder. "No need to be afraid. I've doen lung operations of similar sorts here before. Just a little operation and a few antibitoics and you'll be right as rain. And if you aren't, I'll dissect you andd use you to further the progress of medical science, so your death isn't in vain......That's a joke, by the way, before you interpret it as serious."
He motioned at a medical bench. "Lie down."

Arthur huffed. He would have quite happily befirended this Intern, but it's cautstic comments and antisocial attitude were getting his back up.
"Conserve energy? I've been more active in my time 'ere than you prob'ly ever have, mate. As fer my comic wit, well, I have been known ta leave some Slig inna confused rut after my humourous remarks. But based on the way ya keep thinkin' I'm some lardarse, I dunno if ya've even got the sense of humour ta get confused by a joke. Ya probably just stand there blankly an don't even notice I' m said anythin', er rather I've said anythin'. Slip o' the tongue."
He gave the Intern a sarcastic grin and turned back to the canteen.
