Digit was listing possible options for what to do with his damaged wrist laser when two small organisms (Mola and Ophelia) began to encircle him and spouting non-sense. Digit's battle commands began to auto-function in response to being flanked. The odd small organisms matched none of his records, but their appearance was similar to that of native Mudokons. Naming the objects Unknown Natives he decided to classify them as natives. Mudokon natives were lethal at close-range, but these Unknown Natives did not appear to have that power. However, one thing that was hard-wired into Digit was to never rely on a behavioral pattern of a native. Natives pulled on a strange chaotic energy force that always resulted in some random haphazard effect. The best course of action would be to eliminate both Unknown Natives before they viewed him as a threat. After multiple scenarios the one with the highest success rate was to just break their spines quickly ending their lives.
Only after calculating the chances for error did Digit shut down his battle commands. Digit was not just another mechanical soldier RH-501, he was Digit a being with a conscience that was self-aware. Digit decided to attempt verbal communication with the Unknown Natives. The mechanical being had heard before that verbal communication was how most flesh beings identified themselves and solved their problems. Digit adjusted the volume on his various speakers to an amount he had learned to not cause pain to living beings and produced the words, "Hello Unknown Natives. I am a all-purpose mechanical unit serial code RH-501, but I would prefer to be addressed as Digit. I have no records of your existence in any of my files. Would you care to identify yourselves?"
