Both are kinda right here.
Some jokes are fun, some are tasteless and only made to say to someone: "You suck (<- I use a rather polite insult here!)". And this one is definitely meant to insult one special person, not just someone random or people in general.
I'd take it with humor if someone made jokes like that about me (because having a low self-esteem makes it easier for me to laugh about myself... HAHAHAHA!!! Loser.), but I don't like to see guys who make jokes about people who try to do something good with what they do.
That's my opinion.
