That was not my intention.
I meant that they're just the same as any caricatures and stylised environments seen in traditional 2D cell animation, but rendered in 3D in technical detail. That they have highly realistic lighting effects and individual hair-wind simulation doesn't put any compunction on the animators and artists to produce a photo-realistic cast. They're just higher quality versions of Homer³.
