if you focus only on the bad, it will destroy you.
QFT.

There is a lot of hate in the world, a lot of evil and a lot of simple minded ignorance. You have to try and see the good in people because there is good in most people and thats not just naivety speaking; that's experience.

I also agree with you about the porn matter. The commercialisation of a woman's body (or for that reason a man's body) has skewered humanities view of respect somewhat. The fact you can't listen to a nice tune nowdays without having some musically inept whore (be it male or female) make millions by waggling her/his wares about is abhorrent in the extreme, that isn't music, that's blatantly pornography.

I'm inclined to disagree with you about teachers and nationalism however, I believe that's largely culturally dependant. I have known some amazing teachers who have taught me some good non-curriculum lessons (And have been supportive) and, at least in the area I grew up in, in England we are not taught to love our country but were rather discouraged from nationalism and taught empathy for all countries (Two reasons for this I think a, I was bought up in a Catholic school and b, Britain has a long nasty history of nationalism/imperialism that we are trying to break away from [Much like the 'Stolen Generation' situation in Australia])

Capitalism is wrong the very idea, that world leaders seem to have embraced, that humans live their lives for money which in turn gets power and in turn gets more money is disgusting. At the end of the day, all you can do if you're not prepared to try and make a real difference is to try to look after the ones closest to you and teach them to love. I, as an idealist, believe this is a very possible way of restoring love and respect to our society.

My two cents.
