Will familiar and well‐loved characters and concepts be there, like Big Face, Alf, Elum, possession, wells, SoulStorm Brew, etc.?

I doubt possession will be in the film. People wouldn't accept it in film. (Much like people wouldn't accept the main characters performing double jumps in movies
)
People would ask questions such as "If a race exists on this world that has such incredible, supernatural power, then why have they somehow become enslaved by people who don't even have hands, who the Mudokons could have possesed and killed when they came to enslave them anyway..."
They would have to include Elum in the movie. It's an easy tear jerker to kill him off at the end of the movie
