How was Oblivion worse? If anything, it was more playable then the month-long bore-fest that was Morrowind. Spending 20 minutes trying to swing a rusty dagger at a rat was terrible in and of itself.

The only thing Oblivion had over Morrowind was graphics and a good combat system. Otherwise, Morrowind wins at
everything. Longevity, more immersion, less annoying NPCs, character, no fucking 'turn back here!!'s, no leveled loot and enemies (therefor, a sense of achievement) and a main quest that took longer than 6-8 hours to complete.
Oblivion is good, but about a quarter as good as Morrowind.
