I convert to greyscale using the archaic method of copying and pasting the picture into Microsoft Powerpoint, going to print preview and setting it to greyscale. Then I screenshot the result, which gives me either the whole picture or at the very least the shades of grey i need, depending on how large it is. Yarr.
