I always imagined Nod as being a big, strong and dumb creature. Timid and easily frightened so if Nod was the last of the four heroes he would finally give Abe's team some manpower.
If there was a heroine I'd count on it being Squeek.

Most of Oddworld's species don't seem to be either gender/transgender, so there wouldn't
really be heroines. But we couldn't be certain yet.
Manpower? What about Stranger? I can't remember what wa supposed to happen there...
