There’s nothing wrong with snow melting. It’s when a glacier’s rate of ablation exceeds its accumulation of glacial ice that we should worry.
Putting a huge ice cub in the ocean would be disasterous. All that freshwater melting into the oceans would weaken the thermohaline circulation ever faster than current glacial melt does. Might up the planet’s albedo, though. Forgive me, I’m being examined on all this is a few hours.
