Nazi scientists? Those are way older than nazism. They simply seized upon it.

But no, when used properly the term "race" and its synonyms operate below the division of species, so races, varieties, subspecies, whatever you want to call them, of a species will be able to reproduce successfully. In fact, that is a problem when trying to preserve subspecies of, say, tigers.

As I say, I can't think of any non-arbitrary reason that we do not apply this to ourselves other than the extremely necessary evasion of eugenics.
