Um, The Shining and 1408?

Shawshank is amazing though.
The only redeeming part of The Shining is Jack Nicholson.

It rapes the book completely, some characters die when they shouldn't, whole plot devices are missed out and that woman (Jack's wife, can't think of her name) is generally terrifying to behold. I watched the movie before reading the book and I'd have to say the experience wasn't spoilt for me one bit because for all intents and purposes they are different stories. Stanley Kubrich even left out the little 'Rarr look at me I am Satan the manager of this hotel at the end
