Studying environmental science, I get to keep up with the global warming science, and it’s quite worrying. As important as I think it is for reusing, recycling, energy and water saving, insulation and considerate consumerism to be staple behaviours for every person, I’m not convinced we can fight off global warming. There’s too little being done to reduce anthrogenous emissions from the business‐as‐usual levels, and we’re too close to various tipping points that will exaccerbate the process. We’re not going to end the world, but there’s a lot of human and environmental suffering down the line before nature and society adapt to the altered conditions.

That said, we should retain our ability to make jokes about it as long as keep acting sincerely. Humour doesn’t have to belittle an issue, it can make it more approachable.
