I came to that conclusion a while ago. I see it still says that on TOE. It also says that elsewhere on the Internet because someone copy/pasted a lot of the content of TOE to Wikipedia, which was then copied by other sites. Actually there’s no direct statement. To explain why Abe and Munch aren’t in
Stranger’s Wrath, Lorne said he sent them on vaccation. This ties in with the end of
Munch’s Oddysee for the GBA when the Raisin orders the duo to take a holiday. The idea that it was Necrum they went to comes from the final sentence in
Abe’s biography on Oddworld.com:

But that was in the biography as early as 2001, according to the Internet Archive, which was probably when the article was first uploaded.
