After reading Hobo's post, I'm seriously considering not mentioning that I used to work for Dick Smith myself. FYI, it's Australia's biggest electrical and gadget retailer. Apparently big in New Zealand also.

And it's also an extremely painful job to have. I would get the worst sort of customer; the ones that have a little bit of knowledge. I mean, people who don't know shit just ask you what they should buy and they take it. People who know what they're talking about come in, ask for what they want and then pay for it. The ones with limited knowledge (and brainpower) come in and waste half an hour asking you pointless questions and nitpicking details.

Most common question:
Them: Can I control my printer through a PS/2 port?
Me: No, why a PS/2 port?
Them: Because that's all my laptop computer has.
Me: Are you sure that's not an S-Video out?
Them: Duh... what?
