Jim came up the stairs and reached the R+R. He entered, looked around, noticed Kix was up and without really thinking he asked, "Hey Kix, has Anni been in here?"
it occured to him a second later that firstly if she had she probably wouldn't have left without Kix, and secondly that he'd just announced to the world that he'd lost her when he was supposed to be looking after her. He added quickly, "Cus we were just down in the cafeteria and she suddenly freaked out and ran off. I thought she might have come back here."

A train pulled into the Rupture Farms station and an elderly vykker stepped down.
Krik looked around, feeling slightly disgruntled an, though he'd never admit it, slightly nervous about meeting Dionysia after she lost her temper so severely with his last time he was here. He'd made up his mind to keep an eye open for that troublemaker, Gappiqu, and get revenge on Dion for it (not that he'd let her know. He still needed her to be compliant).
