They aren't guided by the Song Engine. The Song Engine is a piece of ancient Mudokon technology that they happened to walk past.
They are going to Ma'Spa because that's the location where Gabbits traditionally breed and Munch wants to repopulate his species, using the Gabbit eggs retreived from Vykker's Labs.
