Retarded people are in fact more clever than you'd think. Don't compare them to yourself. There is absolutely nothing wrong with retarded folk.
All summed up into how an urban kid would say it; "Don't diss retards!", though I don't approve of saying things like that. 'Diss' gets on my nerves.
