Used, a picture to show this 'seeing red eyes through transparent red visors' thing would help.
Also, if you're looking through a red, transparent visor, wouldn't their eyes appear red regardless?

Look at the picture on the upper left hand corner. The one farthest to the left. The eyes seem to be emitting the light and since the color gets slightly more green away from the eyes, you can assume the eyes are emitting red light.
