OOC: Doe is a very perspective Mudokon, it has saved his life on several occasions. Doe is a Mudokon who works in absolutes, though he preaches balance he has trouble seeing 'in betweens' in others. So he jumps to the conclusion that the dark-skinned Mudokon is against him.
Doe is a very powerful Shaman, but he doesn't realize it, he believes he is just a warrior. Doe has the ability to view a persons spirit not their actual emotions, he sees fear in certain Mudokons becuase they have been living in fear for far too long and it becomes visible in their spirit. When Doe peered into Dionysia's spirit he should of been able to see a different side to her. Because of Doe's inability to see anyone as anything other then good or evil he unknowingly blocked the kinder aspect of Dionysia's spirit from his mind's eye. Thus Doe sees Dionysia only as a cruel and maleficent being.

As for the hiding thing, yeah Doe is in an empty part of the cafeteria doing his best not to be seen, but their isn't really anywhere to hide. Doe doesn't want to hide under tables, becuase if he were caught that would look very suspicious.
