Martha looked up at Arnie and smiled, “Well hello there, sir. My name is Martha, and this is Niko-” He inclined his head, “Rusty-” Rusty stopped fidgeting and then clicked his heels and saluted, “And this is Peach-Peach! Stop that!” Martha shouted. She grabbed the scrab leg that Peach had seized, yelling, “Bad girl! Very bad! Let go!”
“Ohh, Naughty scrab!” Rusty exclaimed jumping forward. He grabbed Peach and tried to prise the leg from the tiny scrabs beak. Martha yanked, and Rusty pulled, and the scrab leg was yanked free of Peach’s jaw.
Martha looked at the bitten leg and then glanced at Peach, who was droping in Rusty’s hands. “Bad girl!” She waved the leg, “That’s cannibalism! You don’t do that! Naughty Peach!”
Rusty let Peach go and she slunk over to Niko and hid under him. Rusty blinked, “Peach hungry.”
Martha chewed her bottom lip and then gave a sympathetic smile to Arnie, saying, “I’m sorry, sir. She must have been hungry. She is normally very well behaved.”
Niko looked down at the little scrab then at #7 and rumbled, “Ifth yev whant. Buf whav anihals arft thef, thogh?”
