Ah, I see. It does say in the Art Book, however, that he may know of Abe's future.
Maybe Abe can open portals so easily because they've already been prepared or whatever by spirits or other Mudokons?

And technical limitations suck. And even so, they could at least have not made the Shaman's mouth look like a puckered up dog's ass, and the whole generally not making his face look so stupid (it does, he looks like some sorta retard). Even if he's old, I'm sure he didn't have to look quite so stupid.

Actually Big Face isn't that powerful. ^^;;
Like if he was he would be teleporting everywhere saving his people, but in actuality freeing Abe and the lightning bolt took a lot out of Big Face and his helpers.
Big Face wouldn't of saved Abe if he had deemed it pointless, those portals they use shave years off the Mudokon caster's life.
I'm sure if Big Face tried to save Abe single handedly he would of failed or died in the process.
Strangely Abe seems to be able to use many portals without losing any life, perhaps its because he is chosen and all.
