A flight from Switzerland to Salt Lake City takes awfully long. In this time, I took my sketchbook and doodled something.
I thought that I badly need to get practice in drawing my character, the Nightingale. So I made a few sketches about her and thought about her farther story too.
That creature was inspired by the word "lullaby".
When she starts to sing, you'll fall asleep and never wake up.
I thought, it should be a woman because women simply can sing lullabies better then men. And she also had to be something bird-like because of the singing thing.
I don't know how why exactly she looks like that yet. I only know that she was not born like this at all (she was born as a usual human). Probably, it was a life-long curse...
Sometimes she longs for a family and tries to steal eggs of birds. But she never was successful because their mothers protect them too well. So she often has to run away from them.
She only starts to sing her lullaby if there is absolutely no way out like when a python entwines around her or a man tries to rape her...
