Dek looked shocked and appalled as Kix and Ralph started yelling at him to treat Anni. He regarded them coldly, and when he spoke, his voice had a fierce tone, barely surpressing his astonishment at their words.
"Listen to me, I am not some crazed experimentor. I am a surgeon. My job is to heal. I have had cases in this factory where I have wanted to investigate my patients further, but of course have treated them first. The Slig, Stuey, was somehow pregnant with his clone. I helped him first, asked questions later. The same with Molt's psychological problems. Don't you dare question my integrity or moral fibre again. Might I remind you I helped treat Anni ocne before, and if she hadn't panicked then, maybe I could have convinced you of my honesty."
He heard Anni's cries.
"As you can hear she is in considerable distress. If I might be allowed to operate, then perhaps I can help your friend."
He turned to Praetyre as they entered the Lab.
"There's far too much for me to say now. The fact that she's female is bizarre enough- how many female mudokons do you get? Her pinkish grey skin tone is also of concern for me- she has exhibited strange powers in the poast- she caused a medical chair she was seated in to spontaneously combust, and at times has appeared like she is being possesed. I am worried there could be some connection in DNA between her and the terrorist, Abe. This is why I have been wanting to investigate her, but right now, we just need to save her."

Arthur carefully placed Anni on a medical bed. Having watched enough of Dek and Slap's operations, he knew how to act, and hooked her up to a life support sytem quickly, just in case her lungs started failing. His medical brains ended there though, and he left the rest to the 2 Vykkers and Slap.

Dean was still worried, back in the R+R. He carefully made his way out of the room and headed to the Lab, firguring that if anybody was hurt, that'd be where they'd be taken to.
