Dek nodded "Good point."
Dek then noticed Jim "Jim, can't stop now. We're gonig to the Labs. After all this chaos I'm concerned for the workers, someone could be hurt."
Dek and Arthur continued at a hurried pace to the Labs, Dek answering Praetyre on the move.
"I was hunting down Molt. I'd got the equipmennt, got #7, worked out where Molt was, but then it was the end of the day. Everyone filtered off to sleep and we had no idea where he would be. We'd better track him down again after we've made sure everybody is OK."
Dek and Arthur kept gonig for the Labs, then stopped to a halt, notcining who it was outside the Labs who was wounded.
"Anni...this is the worst possible outcome."
Dek turned to Praetyre and whispered in his ear "She's the most unusual mudokon I've ever met. Her unusual and unpredictable...gifts... mean this operation will be difficult. and nobody knows what unusual reaction it might trigger in her psyche, she's scared of vykkers you see. I had to help her once before and she would have none of it."
If Anni hadn't been hurt Dek's mind would once more have been ablaze with the lust for scientific discovery, but that would have to wait until she was no longer a patient.
Arthur hurried over to help Anni's retinue.
"Here, I'll help carry her."
