Aida had awoken with the sound of the scream and had instantly curled up, believing that some poor soul was being beaten. She didn't move from her position- lest the attackers notice her as well- and remained still until after Charles had gotten up. It was then she realized she hadn't heard the sounds of the beatings, meaning it might have only been a nightmare and so she calmed somewhat. Even then, it was a good half-hour before she drifted off to sleep again.
