I've heard that one a couple of times and even saw a TV show that did a version of it with a bungee jumper.
There is actually an award given every year for winners of frivolous law suits, named after the woman who sued McDonalds for the hot cup of coffee. Past winners include the guy who sued his neighbour for driving over his arm. How did it happen? He didn't see that his neighbour was in the car when he tried to steal his hubcaps.
