Things with a large fan base generally have them for a reason and saying you hate a game just because others like it just being a whiny brat wanting to be different. Why Halo is so hyped is beyond me, the story was nice but very incomplete and Halo 2 was a downright disaster. Graphics were fine for that time and the game play was okay but the only thing allegedly keeping it afloat now is because people want to know how the story ends. And thats a big part in many videogames these days, there needs to be a decent story. Halo seemed to have that, were it not for the fact that you are thrown into the story without ANY background info whatsoever. Aliens + Ring Weapon = half baked story, apparently.


Havoc

I wouldn't call four books, 3 manuals, and the 2 campaigns a half baked story with no background. The background is there, you just have to look beyond the first level. Comparatively, Gears Of War has bugger all.
