Agreed, this looks promising. Of course, the sprite style of the actual sprites and of the background are
hopelessly mismatched, but since you've said you're just using that background as a filler until you make your own, that's easily forgiven
And I notice you seem to have the shadows sussed, which is cool (that's a slig's eye in the shadow, right?)
