They can't do that because they would lose the support of the hardware manufacturers that preinstall Windows on 100% of their PCs.

Well too bad for the level of compatibility on slower machines and the costumers too, but whatever i dont care much.
The main reason i am interested it Vista is security features Microsoft is talking about. I hope they mean that on virus protection not just file protection... Im tired of all the third party applications i have to run constantly to protect Windows. But i do need a good Windows machine for gaming.
