I often have dreams in which I've died. The most memorable one had what I can only describe as a sort of purgatory, but depicted as some sort of heavenly casino, in which you must keep winning, or you are sent to Hell. The dream never explored any means of going the other way.

Frequently my dreams put me in sort sort of mortal danger, but my body is so heavy, and although I can stand in the position I'm in perfectly well, basic movement is a colossal struggle. I always wake up absolutely exhausted.

During one dream-filled and elaborate night, a normal dream in which I was playing an imaginary Aliens game on my PlayStation, a game which gave me an actual nightmare later that night. I was on a spaceship with my classmates on a school trip. We docked with a larger ship, whether or not this was the destination was never adequately explored. This spacecraft appeared completely deserted. We dumped our bags in a pile shortly after leaving our own ship, on a metal grating that was part of an elevated platform we were all on, in a huge room. I wandered off a little, and came to a place where the floor shrank inwards and became a bridge that lead to a door. Looking over the railings and down into the gloom below, the cause of the crew's desertion became clear. Thousands and thousands of alien eggs. I returned to my class in horror.
Thus begins a horrific blood fest. The transition between the tranquil state at the beginning and this new outlook is fuzzy, but my point of view in the dream would shift to that of my friend and my brother, as one by one they are ripped to shreds. I am the last one left, so I begin strapping various devices to a cryotube, including a cloaking device for some reason (I don't know how I planned to be rescued) and prepared to jettison the escape-pod. Apparently, my dream ended when one of the creatures turned out to be on board, and it tore me to pieces as I slept.

Come to think of it, that bares an uncanny resemblance to the original Alien plot line. However, with my mental image, and the way it is set out, it is quite different from the film. Believe it or not, that is perhaps the most coherent of any of my dreams. My last one put my on the top floor of a double-decker bus, as I watching my brother take part in an armed bank robbery, but as he climbed into the moving getaway car, a tyrannosaurus pulled him out by the leg and ate him.
