Dek explained to Praetyre "Yes, it's a very ancient language. I'm not even sure that is how it's said, I've often known it said as Lahtinn. Anyway, it's very old, and is how the primitive Vykkers used to communicate before we evolved into more intelligent lifeforms. It was very rudimentary, and straightforward in terms of naming,a what-you-see-is-what-you-get sort of thing. The words were complex though ,even though their meaning was simple, so it was abandoned. I learnt some of it when studying psychology, as I heard about cases of Industrials who had regressed mentally, so I thought it could be a way of communicating should they be incable of normal speech.
Anyway the most complex surgery I've performed is probably one of my cases here. Like yours, it involves eye treatment, I've always found eye operations to be fiddly. I once had to treat a mudokon here called Scruben who was injured in his eyes by Boiler steam. A friend of his, a Big Bro Slig, suffered lung injuries from the steam and that was complex. But the worst was probably an operation on a Slig called Molt. He's the psychotic one. He suffed severe injuries to his head and arm, so I had to construct a makeshift cybernetic arm out of any spare metal or equipment lying around the Lab, and had to replace his eye with a mechanical one constructed from the special night vision goggles on a Big Bro mask. Attaching nerves to wires and making it actually work is incredibly hard to do.
There's been a lot of severe injuries here. At the start I had to do everythin by myself, there was nobody else with any clue of how to do oiperatinos. After Slap arrived it became easier to share the workload, and now you're hre we'll be quicker and more balanced for our workloads. I just hope Arnie doesn't decide to split the pay considering there's 3 of us, plus Krik. I mean, I was on a very nice earner at my old Labs, could have retired in about 4 years. I could get a job almost anywhere I wanted, and even appeared on a Magog News morning broadcast, being interviewed. Now, I'm a nobody. And if I'm a nobody I want to at least get paid well for it!"

Arthur waited as the Fone contiued to ring. He noticed there was a new Glukkon with 2 bouncers, and watched as the Glukkon and bouncers ignored Jade's attempts to barter some Moolah from them. He sighed as the dialtone continued.
"Come on, someone answer Odddammit!!!"
