Yup, the PS2 does have a fan, Tom. I think it's rather quiet, but I've got nothing to compare it to. It's louder than a cat farting but quieter than a cat miaowing.

I was mightily cheesed off when I learned of the defection to the dark side, but I've got over it now.
It's a win-win situ:
XBox succeeds = More good games for it, thus making it a more worthy purchase. Plus the games for my beloved PS2 will have to get better due to competition.
XBox flops = whammo! Price drop! XBox and Munch for half price!

But get your facts right! You need to research before putting forward an arguement, and as an Oddworld fan you really should have known that Lanning's a bloke.

There's nowt for us Sony fanboys to fear in either case; though. Lots of games go on hiatus.
The Metal Gear series totally skipped the Genesis and SNES days and was resurrected on PSX.
Metroid skipped the N64 era, and is now back for GameCube.
Luigi went on hiatus for N64, now Mario's on hiatus (not including Mario Kart 64, of course).
Ninja Gaiden skipped the PSX/N64 days and is now possibly coming for X-Box.
After a while, most good franchises go on hiatus for awhile, then come back when the time's right. I have total faith that at least one future Oddworld game will feature on a Sony console.
