For another thing, IQ tests by definition are scaled so that the average score is 100. So if the website or TV show proudly proclaim that the average score is 115 (as I have seen), something is very wrong.

That average is only the average of the users who have taken that test. As I’ve told you before, any survey that people only take if they want to is statistically unsound (including election poll predictions). 100 would (hopefully) be the average of a randomly sampled population.
