Oh, yeah, I heard they were selling them on Ebay for a $1,000/$1,500.
I think it can be because of three reasons:

#1. Ebay is a worldwide auction network meaning that even people
in Europe who are dying to buy will pay those kind of prices.

#2: Those sellers may think people are stupid enough to fall for it
if they don't know the original price. That's lame.

#3: Profit, profit, profit. The lamest by far excuse.

Why everyone wants the console: to boast that they have it first and
because that's the thing with Americans, they'll waste their money
because they think they need to have it and everything else. And
in a year it's sitting in a dark corner catching dust.
