LOL, Muse haven't sold out whatsoever. You just see it like that because they made a slight change in style and you didn't like it.

They played many of the songs on the album on tour in 2004 and they have changed drastically in the studio to become more commercial. And Starlight has pop written all over it.
Assassin is a great example, it used to be 6 minutes long with a complete change in the middle and a tapping solo. Now its a 3 minute radio friendly classic.
