History had to be taught if we are not to turn into a generation of ignorant, shallow idiots... Why would anyone not want to learn about the past? It's interesting and useful to know. Geography, despite being incredibly boring, is also very useful, for obvious reasons. And [in Upper Schools at least] RE lessons don't try to teach people to be any particular religion, they just teach you about the religions of the world.
The most pointless and boring lessons, in my opinion, and Language lessons. Well, I don't have much experience of them, having only really done French for any long periods of time. But the fact is, not meaning to sound like some patriotic pig, that most people that we are likely to encounter in the world speak English anyway. These forums are an example of this. I was glad to be rid of French when my GCSEs were over and I finally got to actually choose what subjects I wanted to do... [I chose Physics, History, Maths, and Biology at A-Level, for anyone who cares...]
