I saw a statistic recently that, in the US, people who turn up to work when they're sick cost the economy more than $300million every year due to lost productivity. People stay at work because they think they'll fall behind but they end up doing worse than if they had taken a day or two off and come back refreshed.
That said, this thread counts as "pointless blogginess" and, as such, should really be in W&B.
