: I didn't ahve a choice to study religion. It was a proper subject {although didn't have a state exam at the end of it}. Now, you can actualy choose to take Religion and have a state exam in it.
NOTE: State exams are the only thing colleges look at in Ireland, unless you get a sports schollarship or are rich enough to afford to go private. To get into college, you need good state exams.
I think that if everyone who practices their religion bothered to learn about other ones, or even to find out what theirs is really all about, it would only help.
