Somehow I doubt the first Oddworld movie will appear on the big screen unless Oddworld magicaly teamed up with paramount or something. It's a strange concept, we've learned to love it as a game but the film industry works very diffrent. Lorne might have his traces as a digital art creator, but not as a movie director. Which is all that matters. A publisher is not going to risk major cash drains by putting a doubtfull movie in the theaters.
And to be quite blunt, I don't think the Oddworld movie belongs in a theater. I mean come on... it's about some allien figure with no significant background and a purpose that no average theater visitor will even appreciate. It has evil tall figures that walk on their arms, have huge heads, and are aided by worms in mechanical pants. Next to that, they will have to create acceptable graphics. 10 years ago they might have been the lead on graphics like that, but they had to give up that position quite some time ago. Especialy in the film industry there are simply bigger and better companies for it now. Then again, everyone can beat the shit they call Pixar...
So concidering all this, do you realy think the company that is going to publish the Oddworld movie is going to risk losing hundreds of thousands of dollars by putting it in the theater? I think not...

(Not saying I don't have faith in Lorne or the movie. I will be getting the movie as soon as I can and I can't wait till it's here. But I just don't expect to see it in a theater).
