IC: (Shryke) "Wait! Before we go to see this Mudokon or otherwise, I had some good thoughts about the battle. This strategy could work.
First, we could have a certain number of scouts (maybe parties of ten) who go as far as the mine in a widespread area, but mainly in the direction follwoing along the crevice. These scouts can act as warnings and sneak up on and take out small parties of Sligs, hopefully with little or no injury, so stealth is important.
Mainly staying inside the cave or luring the Sligs into it could be good for battle. As we are to hopefully live here, we should be able to elarn the cave system. There are many corners, twists and dark places. Since the Sligs will be unfamilier to the area, we shall have a great advantage.
Also, if worst comes to the worst, we may be able to leave this cave, and find another one. There may be many cave systems around here, maybe not quite as good as this one, but a more hidden one could be an answer. Against the battle strategy, we could go up top to search for a more hiden cave. As well as the entrance being far more hidden, in the forest if we block the entrance up with leaves and twigs, it will look inconspicous. The only probelm there would be they may be inhabited already. But we cannot say."
Shryke screeched this out in all languages quickly, then thought. Mudokons didn't seem particularly nasty, but they were odd. Could they trust not to attack them?
"Shredder, Mudokons, to my little knowledge of them, are strange and unpredictable. What is your reasoning for not attacking this one? We shouldn't in the frist place anyway, but do you know this particular one at all, or...?"

OOC: As for the Mudokon respawning, I reckon the chances should be that they are very low. Maybe the Albino Scrab had used it's energies to help Jeff this particular time around?
