But that's what I'm talking about. You consider doing something for music to be on the radio and having a lot of people like you. I don't. I think that this hurts music when you flood the media with garbage. The problem is that people don't like to feel threatened by something that actually makes them think. They want music to thrash and or dance to. Is this wrong? No. But it does make it extremely difficult for bands like Modest Mouse who make truly extraordinary music to even make a living. Back in 97 a documentary was made about Modest Mouse. They already had five albums out at the time but Isaac Brock was so broke that he had to ask the camera man for a buck so he could buy a beer. This is because the musical atmosphere right now tries to suffocate revolutionary bands. And it's because of the mindless garbage bands monopolizing peoples ADD riddled minds.
In the end we are both right. There is more than one way to look at music and also more than one way to look at what the word accomplishment means. I (and most musicians like me) consider an accomplishment to be the creation of a truly great album. Nevermind how it sells. Other people think differently. So we are going to disagree.
